Eye care in Hyderabad, planned around your visit home.
TL;DR
If you live abroad and want to sort out your own eyes, or your parents', on a trip to Hyderabad, start before you fly. Send your reports on WhatsApp, and the surgeon will advise what is likely to be needed and how to time it. Follow-up continues by message after you fly home.
From the Gulf, the US, the UK, or anywhere a long flight away, the worry is the same: a parent whose vision is slipping, and you cannot be there. Or your own eyes, and only a short window at home to deal with them. Here is how a visit can be planned around your dates.
How it works, from abroad
Send your reports before you travel
Message your prescriptions, scans, and reports on WhatsApp. The surgeon reviews them and advises what is likely to be needed and how to time your visit, before you book anything.
A schedule that fits a short trip
We hold a time that suits your travel dates and group your assessment and tests into as few visits as possible, so your days in Hyderabad are not spent waiting in queues.
Consultation and procedure
Dr. H. Siva Mohan Reddy examines you, explains your options, and performs the surgery. Family are welcome in the conversation.
Continuity across the miles
We share your records, stay reachable on WhatsApp, advise when it is safe to fly, and coordinate follow-up with a doctor near you, and we remain a message away whenever you need us.
Timing your trip
This is the question NRIs ask most: how many days do I need? It depends on your eyes and the procedure, and is known only once the surgeon has examined you. As a guide, routine cataract surgery usually means keeping a few clear days for tests, surgery, and a first check before a long flight. You are given the timing for your case so you can plan travel. This explains the typical path, it is not a diagnosis.
What to send before you fly
- The latest glasses prescription and any eye reports or scans, as photographs or PDF files.
- A list of current medicines, and recent blood sugar and blood pressure readings for a parent with diabetes or hypertension.
- Your travel dates, and the date of your return flight.
- The insurer or TPA name and policy number, if an Indian health policy may apply.
What is decided only after the examination
- Whether a procedure is advised at all. Reports sent in advance allow planning, not a diagnosis.
- The lens or technique, the risks that apply to the eye, and the written estimate.
- How many days to keep before flying, and when the review visits fall.
- Whether the second eye, if it also needs surgery, can be fitted into the same trip.
Risks and alternatives are explained before consent, as for every patient. If the examination shows that surgery is better left for a later visit, you are told so.
Complete eye care, explained plainly
We do cataract surgery, ICL, laser vision correction, glaucoma care, diabetic eye and medical retina, and a complete eye check-up, with OCT, OCT angiography and ultra-widefield imaging in-house. A written estimate is given after the consultation.

Frequently asked questions
Can I send my parents' reports before I travel?
Yes, and we encourage it. Message your prescriptions, scans, and reports on WhatsApp. The surgeon reviews them and advises what is likely to be needed and how to time your visit, before you book flights. A firm plan is made only after examination.
How many days should I keep free for cataract surgery before flying back?
It depends on your eyes and the procedure, which the surgeon confirms after examining you. As a rough guide, plan a few clear days for assessment, surgery, and a first follow-up before a long flight. We give you exact timing for your case so you can book travel with confidence.
Do you offer video consultations from abroad?
We review your reports and guide you over WhatsApp before you travel, and stay in touch by message or a video call after you fly home. A full diagnosis still needs a proper in-person examination and scans, which we do when you visit.
Can I arrange everything for my parents while I am abroad?
Yes. Many of our patients are booked by a son or daughter living overseas. Send us your parent's details and concern, and we coordinate timings, keep you updated, and treat them with the patience elderly patients deserve.
Who examines and operates on my parent?
Dr. H. Siva Mohan Reddy carries out the examination, plans the treatment, and performs the surgery.
Is it safe to fly after eye surgery?
For most routine procedures, short and long flights are fine once the surgeon clears you, usually within a few days. Some conditions need more time. You are told when you can fly, as part of planning your trip.
How do costs work for visiting patients?
Costs depend on your case. A written estimate is given after the consultation. You can send your details on WhatsApp before you travel.
