Any student in school, junior college, college, or university. Please carry a current photo identity card from your institution and show it at reception.
What does the ₹200 fee cover?
The fee covers registration, auto refractometry, a non-contact eye-pressure check, an assessment of your current glasses, a screening by a senior optometrist, and a prescription where one is needed. If your eyes need further tests or treatment, we explain what and why before anything is done. Spectacles are charged separately.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are accepted during OPD hours, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 2 PM and 4:30 PM to 7 PM. You can also message the hospital on WhatsApp to ask for a time.
Which ID is accepted?
Any current school or college identity card with your photo on it.
Will I get my glasses prescription the same day?
If the screening shows you need glasses or a change in power, the optometrist gives you a prescription at the same visit. You may have it made up at any optician.
Is a screening the same as a full eye examination?
No. A screening checks vision, eye power and eye pressure. It is not a full medical examination or a diagnosis. If the screening finds something that needs a closer look, you are advised to see the ophthalmologist.
